Sisu Sustainability Objectives

Young Women
TO EDUCATE

1. To Educate

Understand Your Underwear

Sisu conducted a survey of over 400 lingerie consumers, revealing that nearly 100% express interest in becoming more sustainable. Despite a majority of customers wanting to be more sustainable, Sisu released that many are left unclear on how to do so. By using a social media campaign known as “Understand Your Underwear”, Sisu aims to work collaboratively with our community to change the way fashion effects our planet.

We will make you aware of several key sustainable areas that are essential to understanding sustainability. We will engage with the community through social media posts informing you on the materials we use - what they are, how they are used, how to dispose of them and what makes them revolutionary in sustainable fashion. This is in addition to monthly reports on what is going on in the world of sustainable fashion, keeping you up to date with the good and bad news.

By actively educating our Sisu community, we hope to build the perfect balance of customer and brand responsibility, finally making fashion sustainable.

2. To Celebrate

Sisu Cares

Breast cancer has become the most common form of cancer, with 55,000 diagnoses each year in the UK. 15,000 of these cases lead to mastectomy, averaging 41 procedures daily. Despite the rising diagnoses, representation of breast cancer and mastectomies remains minimal, particularly in the lingerie market. Through conversations with survivors, we've gained profound insights into the feelings and experiences a mastectomy brings, and therefore have created a brand that goes beyond inclusive underwear.

Sisu recognises that a mastectomy affects more than just anatomy. We’ve taken the effect a mastectomy has on a woman’s mental health seriously and are now striving to restore self-confidence and sexuality back into our community. However, Sisu understands this is easier said than done, and has provided you with direct links to charities that specialise in Breast Cancer and post-mastectomy care. We want to encourage our Sisu Survivors to utilise these direct lines and not to suffer in silence.

We live in a society that pressures women to "bounce back”. Instead, Sisu wants to celebrate women during their journeys. We have created the Sisu Cares Campaign, which aims to raise awareness of the rising number of women undergoing a mastectomy, celebrating each woman's differences, intending to get rid of society's obsession with 'normality'. The campaign also wants women to recognise that they are not alone and can come to Sisu for any support they feel they may need.

By reinventing your underwear, we are redefining the industry. Tap your desired charities logo and find your support.

3. To Tell the Truth

Transparency in fashion brands isn't just a trend; it's the epitome of a good relationship with customers. By revealing Sisu's inner workings and processes, we can build trust amongst our community, ensuring we stay on track with our brand values. In a world where fast fashion has taken over, transparency has been evolutionary in highlighting the often-hidden realities of production, labour conditions, and environmental impact. By reporting to you monthly via email and social media, you can make informed choices that align with YOUR values – whether it's supporting ethical practices, minimising environmental harm, or championing social responsibility. Transparency makes Sisu accountable, encouraging us to strive for greater sustainability and ethical standards, knowing that every decision is under the watchful eye of an informed consumer base. We hope that our commitment to transparency builds loyalty and a sense of shared purpose within our community. In a world where conscious consumerism is on the rise, Sisu hopes that highlighting the importance of transparency for our business will empower you to be sustainable too.
